Stephen Young has served in ministry for more than 30 years, both in the United States and internationally. Before coming to Shiloh, he pastored churches in Louisiana and Texas and spent a decade as a missionary in Brazil, where he helped start churches and train leaders. His ministry has often focused on revitalization, evangelism, and discipleship, with a heart for reaching people of all backgrounds with the gospel.
Stephen is passionate about both expository and topical preaching, developing new ministries, and equipping believers to follow Jesus in everyday life. He is fluent in Portuguese and brings rich cross-cultural experience that helps him connect with people from many walks of life.
He and his wife, Loaise, met while serving together on a mission project and were married in 2002. They have two children, Nilson and Agnes. As a family, they love opening their home to others, building friendships, and serving together in ministry. Stephen enjoys reading, cooking (especially gumbo), and cheering on his kids’ activities.
